ONLINE ENTERTAINMENT AND LIFESTYLE BLOGGER ALEIGHA NICOLE GIVES ADVICE FOR UPCOMING BLOGGERS AND TALKS PROMOTING POSITIVITY.

Aleigha Nicole is a 20-year-old online entertainment and lifestyle blogger. A young hustling university student who has  a purpose behind everything she does; her own boss on the rise. She first started her blog in 2012 during her first year at university – her freshman year at college and although it wasn’t something she took serious at first it’s now grew to a big part of her life.

How did it all begin?

“I wasn’t consistent at first or serious about blogging until about 2013. Twitter is actually the main reason why I started up, my followers would give me a lot of positive feedback on my inspirational/funny tweets and so because of that I decided that 140 characters just isn’t enough, I need a website! And that’s where it all began.”

“Many people in my generation don’t have a lot of positivity around them and seem to feed off of negativity. I strongly believe in the saying “be the change you wish to see” and with my blog although its to entertain there is also a serious side to it. The main purpose behind it all is to promote positivity, to educate and inspire people — especially people around my age group along with adults and younger teenagers, but my focus is more geared towards my peers. I know can’t make EVERYONE think positive but there’s always someone out there listening.”

Why do you think many young people feed off negativity more than they feed off positivity?

“Everyone has their different reasons as to why they do the things they do, but I’d say the cause is a mixture of what they were taught at home, who they surround themselves with socially, their own will, and the media plays a part in it as well.”

Aleigha looks up to and is inspired by many but the careers of TV Host and Actor Terrence J, Actress and Writer La La Anthony and Celebrity Blogger Necole Bitchie inspire her the most:

“Career wise Terrence J and La La Anthony are my biggest inspirations. La La’s career is similar to where I want to see myself in the future and Terrence J’s motivation to keep going and never give up is what inspires me.

Necole Bitchie is my favourite celebrity blogger and she’s personally given me advice on blogging – great advice actually. She explained to me how to correctly set up my blog and that’s one of the things that has stuck with me and I’ve ran with it.”

What do you like blogging about most?

“I enjoy writing about latest celebrity news and “Talk & Discuss” controversial issues because they interest me the most. My viewers seem to enjoy the celebrity news along with some of the sex topics the most.

I don’t have set days when I upload new posts, I usually just do it when I’m free. However with that being said my viewers can expect to see at least 3 posts per week and that’s the minimum limit when I’m extremely busy. Depending on what I’m writing, posts could take 30 minutes up to 2 hours or more. Usually my full length articles are written and revised within a week. I am the writer and editor of all my posts. As my blog continues to grow and it becomes to the point where I need a team of writers, I’ll do so.”

What is your advice to upcoming bloggers with career aspirations like yours?

“Build your blog based on what works for YOU and blog about what YOU like. I can’t stress that enough. If you spend all your time trying to Get your work to resemble someone else’s, it’s NOT going to work. So just like anything else, be yourself!”

Where do you want blogging to take you? And what do you want to be remembered by?

“I hope that pursuing this career and blogging will open some doors in the entertainment business for me as far as celebrity blogging/journalism, but I definitely wouldn’t call myself a journalist. I want to be a Television personality and I think blogging about what interests me and interviewing celebrities and others for my blog is prepping me for that.

I want to be remembered as someone who’s forever themselves. A fun, spontaneous, open minded spirit. Pertaining to me as a person.”
