Shelly Harris – also known as Chef Shelly is 25-year-old Culinary Artist from New Orleans, Louisiana. Her passion for cooking was birthed at a tender age when she would watch her mother and grandmother cook together – alongside the rest of the family during holidays. However, it was her aunt Alisa Randolph who helped mould the artistic side to her passion, particularly when she was left having to care and cook for her aunt while she was undergoing chemotherapy. It was then she knew Culinary Art was something she wanted to pursue. Her drive continued to excel ever since, setting herself challenges and catering for her community with the aim of building her own empire.

We caught up with Shelly to discuss the future of her business, her favourite dishes to make and much more:

Malachi Mukete is a 22-year-old Journalist, Writer and Short Documentary Film Maker. His work focuses mainly on the plight of black people within white supremacy, as he feels there is a void when it comes to young black people being leaders in their communities – speaking out on issues that affect them specifically. Malachi himself – a proud Pan Africanist  is very active within his community and is a strong advocate for getting more young black people into writing/journalism.

Anthony Lyrics is a 27-year-old versatile writer and published poet who by day is a full-time Social Media Officer for a children’s charity. He first started writing poetry in his late teens, but it wasn’t until his friends saw his work and were impressed that he realised his talent. His passion for writing poetry continued to thrive, culminating in hundreds of poems and a handful of short stories ever since.

Although he now works in Social Media, he always dreamt of becoming a Copywriter, writing content for creative marketing campaigns and TV ads. Rather than TV and billboards, his main focus is now on the Digital space – writing content and also involved in marketing campaigns.
